About the writer…

Martín Julio Castillo is a Mexican-American television and film writer. Raised in a small farming community alongside the Mexican border, he is influenced by the stories of legend and folklore shared by his family in his adolescence.

His craft explores human mortality through the lens of mysticism and the occult to introduce the notion that maybe death isn’t as finite as we believe. He gravitates towards horror infused worlds and characters seemingly beyond the scope of redemption to showcase that, with enough fervor, anyone can arise the victor.

As a former Entomology scientist, Martín approaches his writing with the precision of an X-ACTO knife. He channels his experiences as a Brown, LGBTQ+ kid growing up in impoverished neighborhoods to tell terrifying tales of trauma, loneliness, and fighting like hell to earn your keep.
